Research Interest: I am interested in understanding key molecular pathways in articular cartilage affected by the endocannabinoid system or cannabinoids at large.  My work focuses on the highly prevalent age-associated diseases of the joint called Osteoarthritis.

Specific Research Topics on Cannabinoids:

Studying the effect on D9-THC on post-traumatic OA development

Studying the effect on D9-THC on age-related OA development

Studying the effect on D9-THC on age-related dementia (collaboration with Prof. Andreas Zimmer, Univ. of Bonn)

Key Words: Cartilage, Inflammation, MMP, D9-THC, Osteoarthritis severity, Sirt1
