Research Interest: My research focuses on elucidating the neurobiological basis of major psychiatric disorders: depression, anxiety, and PTSD.  We apply cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and circuit-level technologies to map disease-relevant changes with high precision and pinpoint convergent mechanisms shared across these highly comorbid conditions. Our ultimate goal is to translate these discoveries into novel, mechanism-based drug targets and therapeutic strategies that can more effectively prevent or treat stress- and trauma-related psychiatric illness.

Key Words: Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, CB1, GABAergic neurons, Hippocampus, Psychedelics.
