| Cannabinoids Data-base

Masha Niv Ph.D.

My lab has established the BitterDB database of bitter molecules, http://bitterdb.agri.huji.ac.il . This highly cited and heavily used repository of 1000 bitter compounds and associated receptors, currently has ~20,000 users worldwide, and provides a useful resource for the food and pharma community. BitterDB data allowed us to develop a machine-learning classifier of molecules into bitter or non-bitter based on chemical structure, the BitterPredict.
Following this example, we have begun to gather the structural information on cannabinoids and cannabinoid-like molecules. This dataset will facilitate the research in my lab, and will provide a convinient resource for the Cannabis Center members. Eventually, we expect to establish a publicly available database that will provide a focal point for Cannabis research.
